Making a Difference
The Rhode Island Society of CPAs certainly embraces the philosophy of making a difference by supporting the community.
Twenty nine years ago, RISCPA launched its Charitable Golf Outing. Today, the event draws a healthy group of the area’s finest professionals all playing to support one of the Ocean State’s worthy charitable organizations. Over the years, the Society was fortunate to accumulate funds earmarked for donations. In an effort to appropriately memorialize these monies, RISCPA commenced its relationship with The Rhode Island Foundation by establishing the RISCPA Philanthropic Fund. Through our foundational arm we’re able to grow our fund through donations and by the RIF’s attractive investment return.
RISCPA: Your Partner in Success
The RI Society of CPAs offer scholarship for students from Rhode Island pursuing an accounting or finance major at any private or public college or university. The student must certify they are from RI, but they can be enrolled in an accounting or finance program at ANY college or university, regardless of it being located outside of Rhode Island. Recognizing it’s important to support the “seeds” of our profession, we’re proud to offer the Carl W. Christensen, Cheryl A. Ruggiero and KLR/Brian A. Altomari Memorial Fund Scholarships.
RISCPA also recognizes the individuals who have attained the highest CPA exam scores. This rigorous challenge is no easy task and we’re proud to present a gold medal to the highest and a silver medal to the runner-up.
The name of our fund is:
"Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants Philanthropy Fund"
